Medicine has always been a part of my life. I was born in Indianapolis where my father trained and became a professor of surgery. My mother, a nurse, stayed home to raise us children. I was the second of three kids. I lived in Carmel, a suburb of Indianapolis, throughout my childhood and was passionate about horses.
I attended Indiana University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology. I worked in a research lab there for two years. I attended Indiana University School of Medicine, where I met my husband, Paul. My pediatric residency training was at Loyola University Medical Center. I am board certified in pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. I had my first child during my last year of residency. I now have three children, Ethan, Anna, and Tori.
As a general pediatrician, the scope of my practice has been age zero to early twenties. My strengths are infant and child development and children with special needs. I worked with a developmental pediatrician throughout my residency and learned how to balance and incorporate the advice of specialists for the child's best overall health and well being.
